From where I'm sitting, it looks a bit like throwing the baby out with the bathwater. So-called "distanced and objective journalism" may not actually exist but it, like lots of things in life, is an ideal that we work towards. I like weblogging as much as the next person and I'm all for giving a voice back to "the little guy" but to redefine journalism and reporting as right-here, right now will, I think, ultimately end up being the voice of the mob.
