The Vineyard is only now
implementing a much needed
public transportation system. It's still in it's infancy, but has improved by an order of magintude in the last year. I kicked myself, the other day, when I thought back to when the only options were car-bike-hitching and realized I had missed the perfect opportunity for a little bit of art making. It would have been a beautiful moment to wake up one morning and see the Island dotted with bus stops, maps and schedules for a 100% imaginary transit system!
David McFarlane : A few tips on the care, feeding and shooing-away of artists
"Those 'I always keep a notebook beside the bed for my dreams' types. Those 'the creative process is a mystery I don't like to tamper with' types. They can all take a long walk off a short pier, as far as I'm concerned, and maybe they wouldn't mind taking a few 'absolutely riveted' critics with them." A little shrill perhaps, but not far from the truth.
Jason Kottke : Silkscreen
"I'm a big fan of small, bitmappy fonts. I've been using a font called Sevenet (derived from Joe Gillespie's excellent Mini7) for a while now, but I didn't quite like the look of it...too wide. I wanted a font that was narrower and included a bold version." mmmmm...fonts.
